Internal Family Systems (IFS) Counselling
Heal From Within.
One “Part” at a Time.

If you’ve been told your pain is “all in your head,” you know how invalidating that feels.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) offers a different message: Your pain is real — and it can be reversible.
PRT is an evidence-based approach rooted in neuroscience that helps the brain “unlearn” chronic pain. When pain persists long after injury or appears without clear medical cause, it’s often due to the brain misinterpreting safe signals as danger. PRT helps you retrain these patterns, reduce fear, and restore safety to your nervous system.
What Is Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)?
Pain Reprocessing Therapy is an evidence-based approach rooted in neuroscience that helps the brain “unlearn” chronic pain. When pain continues long after an injury has healed—or appears without a clear medical cause, it’s often because the nervous system has learned to interpret safe sensations as danger.
PRT works by helping your brain relearn safety. Through gentle somatic awareness, emotional processing, and retraining of fear-based patterns, PRT teaches your system to calm pain signals, reduce tension, and shift out of protection mode so you can return to movement, confidence, and ease.
PRT Can Help With
Chronic pain
(Back, neck, jaw, shoulder, pelvis, etc.)
Tension, fibromyalgia, or migraines
Pain without clear medical explanation
Fear of movement, flare-ups, or activity
Feeling stuck between “it’s physical” and “it’s emotional”
What Sessions Looks Like
PRT is based on neuroscience research showing that chronic pain can be “neuroplastic”, maintained by the brain even when tissues have healed. By teaching the brain safety, pain signals can calm and often fade completely.
In our work together, we’ll explore:
Psychoeducation about the pain-fear cycle
Somatic awareness & nervous system regulation
Gentle exposure & movement techniques
Emotional processing for fear, anger, grief, and guilt around pain
Integration with IFS or yoga for deeper healing
Support That Meets You Where You Are
Compassionate, body-based care to help you reconnect, regulate, and heal.
